Lost and Found Policy and Procedures
The campus Lost and Found is located in and operated by the Graphics Department. This department is in the basement of Founders Hall. Business hours are 10:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 4:00pm Friday. See the Graphics Department home page for additional contact information.
Found Articles:
Found articles should be turned in to the Graphics Department if found during business hours.
Articles found during the hours the Graphics Department is closed should be turned in to the Circulation Desk in the Library or the main Security office located by the garage entrance. These locations serve as temporary Lost and Found while the Graphics Department is closed.
The Library and Security office take found articles to the Graphics Department on at least a weekly basis. Articles are to be delivered to Graphics at least every Friday during normal business hours.
Lost Article Requests:
If you have lost an article, contact the Graphics Department using the Request Form found below or visit the Graphics Department, located in the basement of Founders Hall. If Graphics does not have the article, you may contact the Library's Circulation Desk at x1117 and/or Security at x1121.
Many articles take a few days to be turned in. If the article is not turned in immediately, try contacting Graphics after 48 to 72 hours have passed.
Found Article Disposal:
Found articles are kept in the Graphics Department based on the following schedule:
- Found from the 1st day of fall classes until the 1st day of the next fall term (1 year) are kept until the 1st day of the next spring term.
For example, articles found during the fall 2005, spring 2006 or summer 2006 term are kept until January of 2007. On the first day of the spring 2007 term, these articles are removed from Graphics and donated, if possible, or thrown away.
