Course Descriptions

MS Word Microsoft Word - Word is the predominate word processing program in use today. With Word you can create documents, tables and mailings as well as integrate documents with other Office applications.

Word roundtable - this class is meant to be a discussion to topics and questions that users come together to review and learn how to handle; questions should be sent in advance to the instructor if possible to make best use of the time together

MS ExcelMicrosoft Excel - Excel is a spreadsheet program that will allow you to manage columns of numbers and related text. Formulas help perform mathematical manipulations which automatically update when the data changes. You can create charts of your data as well.

Excel 1: inputting data, formulas, format and sort your data and tips on printing an displaying data.

Excel 2: refine your spreadsheet data by learning about additional built-in functions, how to create charts and graphs

MS Powerpoint Microsoft PowerPoint - PowerPoint is a tool to help you add visual appeal to your presentation. It is meant to help guide your audience through your discussion and allows you to easily incorporate both text and graphics.

PowerPoint 1: basics of using PowerPoint; create and edit your presentation slides; change the order of slides; view slides from development through presentation; change templates

PowerPoint 2: lean to add "wow" to your presentation through slide builds and transitions; use graphics, sound and video files; create hyperlinks to external web files; creating audience handouts and speaker's notes

Access Microsoft Access - Access is a database program that allows you to manage data you input or import from other programs. You can query the data and extract records you need and create reports tailored to your output needs.

Access 1 - basic concepts behind relational databases; learn how to create a table, the placeholder for all your data in Access, and edit data; introduction to queries and how they help you run reports or link data to Word merge processes

Access 2 - further refine queries; create reports form the built-in wizard and changing report design

PC Health Preventative PC Health - learn to manage data files on your PC and how to manage and organize your email; review PC and file security basics and security relating to web sites, user names/passwords and data encryption; understand how to use tools like ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter to make your PC run more quickly and have more storage; manage your web browser and cache files
