Civil Litigation

The Civil Litigation track prepares students for a career centered on the litigation of civil cases in trial and appellate courts. Civil litigators must master a variety of procedures and skills, such as discovery processes and advocacy techniques, that are used no matter what substantive law forms the core of the dispute that is being litigated.

Areas of Specialization

In addition to the basic track in civil litigation, some students may wish to prepare for a more specialized practice.  The following  three areas of specialization each have specialized courses that a student with a strong focus in the area of specialization might consider in addition to the courses in the basic track in civil litigation.  If a course from the basic track is repeated for the area of specialization, it indicates that that course is especially important for the specialty area.
